Book Name- The Happiness Code

Author- Suvasish Mukhopadhyay

Publisher- Peacock Books

Price- Rs. 150

Blurb-

The book talks of art of achieving happiness. It is filled with author’s lifetime experiences about human psychology. It is highlighted that happiness is nothing but a state of mind and that state can be attained by exploring the inner world. Simple lifestyle, benevolent deeds, positive mindset and clarity in thoughts are prerequisites for being happy. By chasing and trying to be happy no one can attain happiness. It is spontaneous.

There is a misconception that money is the yardstick of happiness but in most of the cases excess money is the root cause of unhappiness. Ego is the greatest barrier in the way to happiness. The key to happiness is to make others happy. Several real life incidents are portrayed in a lucid manner in various chapters of this book. This book has the potential to transform a human being and show him or her the right way of living and enable the readers to get the true meaning of life. The mission of the author is to awaken the dormant happy persons, who are in deep slumber within the folks.

My views-

I define ‘The Happiness Code’ to be a guide to happiness. The book consists of 107 chapters. Each chapter portrays a new way towards achieving happiness.

The language is simple and easy to understand. The narration is so aptly done that the question of doubts does not arise throughout the reading process. The author recounts some incidents of his life which are indeed inspiring. When you explain certain thing to someone, the explanation becomes easier to understand when you relate it to real life situations. The same is done by the author. That’s the probable reason why the reading process turns out to be interesting. Each chapter is inspiring and gives out a message for the readers.

The Happiness Code is sure to change your angle of viewing and taking happiness. It changed mine! I wanted to mention a few quotes form the book but that would be a spoiler. I request you to read this book. I am sure you wouldn’t regret it.

I rate-

Cover- 2/5
Narration- 4.5/5

My overall rating for ‘The Happiness Code’ is 4/5.
