Review

The month of August was a month full of psychological thrillers for me. I've been reading around one book per week. I am amazed by the way these stories are written. Each story is different from the other. Love will find a way is one among them.

The book name and the cover would give you an impression that the story will be that of love. It surely is. But it has some mystery elements too. It is said that guns are the one of the best weapon of mass destruction. But I would say that it is the mind which is the most powerful among them all.

Love will find a way is basically a small plot but good enough to keep you engaged until the very last page. The story revolves around Madhav, the protagonist and his love interest, Radhika. The author has sketched out the characters very well. They are so beautifully created that you will start to believe that they are for real. The chemistry between the characters is amazing. The story is being narrated in third person narrative. It is done well. The realistic and frank narration of this story keeps you stuck on to this book. The simple and casual language steals the show. The author has portrayed the feelings of the characters very well. The story becomes a bit predictive towards the end.

Love will find a way is a romantic tale which has equal proportion of psychology and mystery. It is a book you will get hooked on to from the very first page.

Review-

A book that will touch your hearts.
A book that will make you believe in love.
A book that will make you fall in love.
A book which will leave you teary eyed.
... This is 'The Cost of Love' for you!!

I started reading this book with a thought in the mind that it will be the usual tale of romance. Few pages down and I realised that this book isn't the usual one. The book is packed with emotions and love. Once you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down. This book is surely a treat for romance lovers.

The story starts with the fun talks and gains seriousness somewhere during the fourth chapter. The plot is crisp and short. There have been many books written deriving inspiration from Nirbhaya incident. And trust me, each book is unique in its own way. This book too tells you a great tale of love. There are not many characters. But the ones which are there are strong enough to keep the story intact and engaging. Both the protagonists depict strong character. You will be overwhelmed with their love bond. You will ache to have a lover like Aaryan and Aarushi and a friend like Nikhil. The author has conveyed the feelings of the protagonists beautifully. There are some boring patches in the initial chapters having many cheesy lines and PDA. But they are nullified with the last few chapters. The incidents follow a flashback sequence which makes you grow an interest in the story. Reading is easy as the author has narrated the transition between the present and the past well. The language is lucid and simple. The simplicity in this story, the simplicity of the characters steal your heart. You will feel like you have known the characters since ages. The author has surprised me with the climax. It was totally unexpected.

The Cost of Love is an love story that will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

The Age of Aspiration by Devinder Sharma - Book Review

Devinder sharma novel

Book Name- The Age of Aspiration

Author- Devinder Sharma

Publisher- Invincible Publishers

Blurb-

The growth of the Indian software industry is a success story rarely witnessed in the world and an election issue for Donald Trump. Admired by some, envied by others and inspiration for many countries "The Age of Aspiration" (Story of Indian Entrepreneurship) deals with the seeding of the Indian software industry and thus dawns the Age of Aspiration for millions of Indian youth and traces the life of Ajay a software engineer from a small backward village to becoming a software entrepreneur. From his coming of age to being the youngest head of a department to a roving ambassador for his company, he relates as an observer and a commentator of the important events during 1998 to 2004. It will fire reader's imagination as it takes him through his entrepreneurship, phoenix moments, management of sexual desires, mastering moods, an advocate of the principle of Oneness, sense for rightness and justice and remain untarnished by success.

Review-

The Age of Aspirations is an interesting story about entrepreneurship. This story talks about Ajay's (the protagonist's) life right from his struggling days to his success. It talks about his college life and his work life.

Reading a brief account of somebody's life is something that interests me. I get to know the person very well. I know about his struggles, his sacrifices, his success and his life. I find inspiration in such books. This book too did the same to me. The protagonist seemed like a familiar person.

The story has been narrated in third person narrative. The language is lucid and the book is rich in vocabulary. The manner in which the story has been narrated tells you how good the author is with the language. The author has introduced the characters in the story at the beginning of the novel. I found it very thoughtful on author's part to do the same as there are many characters and there is a possibility that the readers might get confused about them.

The novel is a good read. It's inspiring. However, I didn't like the typesetting and layout of this novel. There are many long paragraphs which were a turnoff for me.

I rate:
Cover- 3/5
Characters- 4/5
Story- 4/5

My overall rating for The Age of Aspiration is 4/5 stars.

Kansa : Book 1 from The Professor Black Triology by Prassant Kevin - Book Review

Crime thriller novel

Book Name- Kansa

Author- Prassant Kevin

Publisher- Inked Company

Blurb-

OVER A SPAN OF TEN YEARS, HE KILLED FORTY PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEN VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE. AFTER FIVE YEARS OF SILENCE, HE IS BACK AGAIN, SEEKING HIS NEXT VICTIM. ONLY ONE MAN CAN STOP HIM - PROFESSOR BLACK. Maher was found unconscious in the middle of the highway and later, in the hospital, she revealed that she had escaped from a killer's house. All the details and patterns matched the serial killer 'Kansa,' who had disappeared five years ago after murdering forty pregnant women. ACP Saargi Desai was assigned to the case. She appealed to her department to bring back Professor Black to help her catch the killer. The Professor, who had a haunting past that had kept him away from the world of crime and investigation for several years, was not willing to take on this case. But the ACP managed to convince him to get on board just for this one last time. Soon after agreeing to help, the Professor realized that for the first time in his life, he had met his match. As he dug deeper into the case, everything got dirtier, the stakes went higher, and nothing was what it seemed.

Review-

I received this book during the lunch break at work. To pass some time, I started reading it. I couldn't put the book down. The remaining time at work didn't pass in jiffy. And I had to compulsorily keep myself away from this book. I reached home with a sole intention to finish reading it. I finished reading this book in straight two and a half hours.

This crime thriller will keep you on the edge. It will keep you hooked onto it. The story is about the case of missing pregnant women. It is the chase of the ACP and Professor Black for Kansa.

There are many characters involved in this story. Since it's a crime thriller, involvement of many characters is justified. The author has perfectly involved the characters in every part of the story. Also, his way of narration makes you paint a picture of these characters. Each character plays a significant part in the story. The ACP and Professor Black have been portrayed well. I loved their chemistry.

The story has been narrated in third person narrative. The language is simple and lucid. That is what makes reading a pleasant experience. I've had read thrillers before which were stuffed with heavy words. When reading this book, I felt that the author was himself narrating the story to me. The narration is realistic.

The author has developed this plot after a lot of thinking and brainstorming sessions. It can be inferred from the way the author has presented the incidents in the story.

I've read Prassant Kevin's King of Heart and was totally disappointed with it. With Kansa, Prassant has made a great comeback. I did not have any expectations from Kansa. But Prassant has proved me wrong. I am eagerly waiting for the second book of this triology.

Overall, Kansa is a kind of book you would love to read again and again. I wouldn't be surprised if the book is made into a short film or movie.

I rate:
Cover: 3.5/5
Characters: 4/5
Story: 4/5

I rate 'Kansa' with 4/5 stars.

The three psychos are part of a connected universe, set in a novel with innovative storytelling, witty narration and an entertaining mix of thrill, humour and drama.

Review-

Our mind plays the most confusing games with us. It is the most complicated thing. The more you try to understand it... study it, you will discover more about it. This story is a psychological thriller which will leave you shocked and surprised. You begin to read this book as three stories only to realise that all three are well connected towards the end.
The stories are written very well. The protagonist of the stories is the one who steals the show. You just need to read a few pages and you will be amazed by the way the author has developed the protagonists. They are intelligent. They are smart. They will make you grow interest in them and at the same time, they will make you have a negative impression about them. It is said that psychology is the only science that has no definite definition. The author has proved it to be true through his stories. Every character from his stories is different with a unique mindest. The characters dont seem to be repetitive.

The gripping plot coupled with lucid language makes this book an engaging read. All the three stories have the potential to keep any kind of reader hooked on to it.

Out of the Dream Park into the revolution of badassery by Sonali Sharma - Book Review

Out of the Dream Park into the revolution of badassery

Book Name- Out of the Dream Park into the revolution of badassery.

Authoress- Sonali Sharma

Publisher- Invincible Publishers

Blurb-
The youth is most credulous to change! And the only moment when youth can be influenced is when it is made to talk about its area of interest.

This book holds a perfect blend of love, sex, indignation and provocation of new ideas.
Out of the dream park into the revolution of badasssery is about a girl who believed to be of no proportion to this prodigious world. But that little girl soon connects all the dots that were masked in her dream park. And she manages to come out of her own small world into a badass revolution with her own ideologies.

The book would be a strong source of motivation to the youth that is giving up on this life so easily. It will force young minds to build their own dogma. It will enliven the beast that's sleeping inside them and force them to get up and be a part of change! Starting from their own self.

Review-

There are books which make you think, which make you question yourself about the things you do. This book is one among them. You are forced to think about various aspects of life. The author through her book talks about her first crush, her college life, her decisions, her mistakes, how she didn't fall into societal pressure and many more things. Reading about personal account of people's life is something I like the most. It lets you know more about that person, his thoughts and his life.
This book has been written in first person narrative. The writing style is good. However, there are many grammatical mistakes in this book. It needs to be edited well. Also, the book isn't presented in a right way. There are incidences where the narrator speaks to her diary which makes the reader confused. The layout needs a thorough change.

The book will be an inspiration to most readers out there. You will begin to look at your life in a different way. It's a good one-time read.

I rate:
Cover- 3/5.
Characters- 3/5
Story- 2.5/5

My overall rating for this book is 3/5 stars.

Hindola by Ranganath Srinivasa - Book Review

hindola book, musical love story

Book Name- Hindola

Author- Ranganath Srinivasa

Publisher- Invincible Publishers

Blurb-
So, here I was in this family with a loving husband who had absolutely no time for his wife. The sea was my only soul mate. I could sit there on the beach gazing at the sky in the evenings waiting for the sun to set into the ocean. When the sun disappeared, my emotions would slowly melt and evaporate making me aware of the ground realities. "Hey. Be careful. You are a married man with two children. I am a married woman just recovering from the loss of my son after a depression. To be honest, I did get such feelings with you. But I have controlled my emotions."

Story in a nutshell-
Hindola, just as its name, is a unique love story. Most of us might not be knowing but hindola is a kind of raag. When one talks about love, music follows. Love is often attributed to music. This love story too is centered around music.

Review-
The story begins with an incident where an author has come to a village to find inspiration for his novel. He finds inspiration in a lady which then takes the form of love. Hindola is their journey of love. Hindola is the lady's journey of becoming a singer. I found the story very matured and loved reading it. The story is realistic. There are no sugar coated incidences. It's plain and simple. It is this simplicity of the story which made a place in my heart.

The characters aren't too many. The author has portrayed the characters as strong and dedicated. I believe that enough justice has been done with the characters. Each character has a fair role to play in the story.

The narration and language is simple and engaging. You are hooked on to the story. However, there are some instances where the story gets boring. But it's just a part. I also found a few grammatical errors here and there. They can be rectified in the next edition.

Hindola is a matured love story and teaches you simple yet important lessons. It tells you that your love for your partner should be selfless. It tells you that every end is a new beginning and it should be taken positively.

Hindola is a matured read. The book won't disappoint you.

I rate-
Cover- 2.5/5
Characters- 4/5
Story- 4/5

My overall rating for Hindola is 3.5/5 stars.
